Dodla Dairy-Kenya Ltd has split its sales team into two regions, namely:

  • Nairobi Region – covers upto Kiserian, Ngong, Rongai, Kikuyu, Kiambu, Thika, Ruai, Mulolongo, Athiriver, Bisley, Kitengela, Namanga and Kajiado
  • Upcountry Region – Any other region besides the above

We also have depots in Kisumu (Sabuni Road off Kisumu-Busia Road next to Fugo animal feeds, Kisumu) and Mombasa (Mwatate street, Shimanzi) where Distributors can access stocks depending on their locations.

Recruitment of new Distributors

This is done mainly by our Sales team on ground. They identify potential distributors before bringing them on board.

a) Requirements of a new Distributor

  • Must have a registered business and premises.
  • Must have been in the milk distribution industry for atleast 2years.
  • Must have a proper distribution network (i.e his sales team / Push boys)
  • Must be able to pick stocks from our premises.
  • Minimum investment depending on the region.
    • Nairobi Region – above shs.200,000:00.
    • Upcountry Region – Above Kshs. 1,000,000:00

b) Required Documents

  • A valid business registration certificate.
  • National Identification (ID) / Passport.
  • KRA PIN Certificate.
  • Passport size photo.
  • Others – Post office Number and Phone Number.

Once a potential distributor has met the above requirements as listed in (a) and (b) above, the respective salesperson directs / accompanies him to the office for account opening.

During this process, he is introduced to the GM and all the other staff members.

Vetting is also done by the General Manger (GM ) and /or Area Sales Manager (ASM) to ascertain that all information given is credible after which they give approval for the Account Opening.

The Distributor is then required to fill the Account Opening Form in which all the details requested above will be filled and copies of the above documents attached.

Market Allocation

Once the account has been opened, the sales department identifies the gaps in the market based on which a region will be properly demarcated to accommodate both the existing and the new distributors.

This depends on the following:

  • Population of the area
  • Market size.
  • Capital to invest.
  • Current sales volume as per market audit report.

Payment Terms

We strictly encourage prior payments and no sales on credit.

For Cheques, they MUST be current, and no stock will be released until their maturity.

  • Mpesa paybill a/c.
  • Equity Bank .
  • Standard Chartered Bank.
